Switzerland 20 Switzerland 20

The Switzerland 20 is our market on the Swiss Market Index (SMI), which follows the 20 largest and most liquid stocks from the Swiss Performance Index. It’s the country’s main blue-chip stock index, with constituents such as Novartis, Holcim, Swiss RE, Roche and Nestlé.

The companies on the Switzerland 20 account for 80% of the total capitalization of the Swiss equity market. So, it’s used as a benchmark for the country’s stock market and economy.

The index is market-capitalization weighted, so larger companies have a greater influence on the market price, but no company can ever exceed a weight of 20%.
