ESMA Regulatory Changes

All the information you need to understand how ESMA impacts your trading with us.

ESMA Changes Overview

In accordance with the new ESMA regulations, we will be changing the margin rates for our Retail Clients from 29th of July 2018. Professional Clients will not be affected. Find out more about the ESMA regulations here.

FOREX.com platform clients

If you trade on the FOREX.com platforms and apps and do not have any open positions at 10pm BST on 27 July, you’ll be able to log in to your updated account with your current ID and password and trade as normal on our new, adjusted margin rates. This account has your full trading history and account settings.

If you have open positions, you will have two accounts: A primary account and a secondary account. The primary account trades under the new, adjusted rates. Your secondary account holds all your funds and existing positions opened under current (pre-ESMA) margin rates. You will not be able to open new positions from this account but can fund, withdraw and transfer funds to your primary account.
