The Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Index tracks the performance of the top 100 companies with the highest corporate social responsibility practices across all major US stock exchanges.
The criteria for ESG are numerous. Environmental factors can include mitigating climate change in a company’s production processes or reducing its carbon footprint. Social criteria involve a company’s relationship with its employees and the communities it operates in. Governance refers to how a company’s leadership is structured, the transparency with which it conducts audits and the rights granted to its shareholders.
