The US SP 500 is our market for the S&P 500, a stock index that tracks 500 of the largest companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, and Chicago Board Options Exchange. Top constituents include the likes of Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon.

The S&P 500 is designed to reflect the leading industries of the US economy and covers approximately 80% of available US market capitalisation.

To be included, a company must meet certain requirements, including having a market cap of at least $13.1 billion, having a majority of its shares in public hands and being public for at least a year.
