GBP/AUD market insights
Pivot points are a technical indicator that traders use to predict upcoming areas of technical significance, such as support and resistance. They're calculated by averaging the high, low and closing prices of a previous period. That could be a day, a week or a month.
If a market is trading above its previous pivot point (known as P), it is seen as a bullish signal. If it is below, it is bearish.
Support and resistance levels are a core part of technical analysis, providing crucial insight into possible future price reversals.

GBP/AUD overview
GBP/AUD is the forex ticker for the exchange rate between the British pound and the Australian dollar. It tells traders how many Australian dollars are needed to buy a unit of sterling.
Trading GBP/AUD is seen as a key way of getting exposure to two major economies. They’re among the world’s 10 most traded currencies, but the pair is only considered a cross currency, as it doesn’t hold the US dollar.
Historically, GBP/AUD has been impacted by commodity prices due to Australia’s reputation as a net exporter. It’s also been used as a ‘carry trade’ due to the interest rate differential between the two economies – but since the Covid-19 crisis, this difference has decreased to just a few basis points.
