Hong Kong 50 market insights
Pivot points are a technical indicator that traders use to predict upcoming areas of technical significance, such as support and resistance. They're calculated by averaging the high, low and closing prices of a previous period. That could be a day, a week or a month.
If a market is trading above its previous pivot point (known as P), it is seen as a bullish signal. If it is below, it is bearish.
Support and resistance levels are a core part of technical analysis, providing crucial insight into possible future price reversals.

Hong Kong 50 details
The Hong Kong 50 is our market for the Hang Seng China 50 Index, which measures the performance of the 50 largest companies listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange and in mainland China by market capitalisation.
As it is market-capitalisation weighted, the index is influenced most by its larger constituents. Notable stocks include HSBC, Tencent and Alibaba.
The Hang Seng is widely used as a benchmark for the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Chinese equity markets as most constituents are domiciled in mainland China. This means that the index’s price is influenced by factors like the strength of the Hong Kong dollar, as well as the relationship between the US and China.
