EUR/CHF market insights

Pivot points are a technical indicator that traders use to predict upcoming areas of technical significance, such as support and resistance. They're calculated by averaging the high, low and closing prices of a previous period. That could be a day, a week or a month.

If a market is trading above its previous pivot point (known as P), it is seen as a bullish signal. If it is below, it is bearish.

Support and resistance levels are a core part of technical analysis, providing crucial insight into possible future price reversals.

EUR/CHF details

EUR/CHF is a forex pair consisting of the euro and Swiss franc. The two currencies are known for their strong relationship due to close ties between Switzerland and the entire Eurozone.

This correlation between the two countries creates an inverse relationship between EUR/USD and USD/CHF. Taking long positions on both currency pairs can often replicate the performance of EUR/CHF. However, when monetary policy differs between Switzerland and the European Union, the correlation between these currency pairs can unravel.

The Swiss franc was pegged to the euro from 2011 to 2015, a short-lived arrangement that was intended to create closer parity between the two currencies following the euro’s decline in the 2000s.
