Gold and silver CFD trading

During the week, pricing will closely track the underlying spot gold market with the tighter spreads that brings. During weekends, when the institutional spot gold market is closed, pricing is derived from relevant reference markets and other information available to StoneX. This includes related gold markets, news, customer flow and risk management considerations.

Weekend prices may differ materially from the price available when the institutional XAU/USD market reopens, particularly following significant geopolitical, economic or market events, where price formation remains difficult.

Weekend spreads will be wider than standard market hours.

In exceptional circumstances, including significant market disruption or where reliable pricing is unavailable, trading may be restricted, paused or made close-only. Standard financing charges and margin requirements will apply.

Our main source of revenue comes from the market spread. In effect, you pay a little more for the buy price, and receive a little less for the sell price. For example, if EUR/USD is trading in the market at 1.2164, a 1-point spread means it would have a buy price of 1.21645 and a sell price of 1.21635.

All metals (including spot and CFD markets) are available 23 hours a day from 6pm ET Sunday through 5pm ET Friday. Trading is closed from 5pm to 6pm ET daily; however, you may place new working orders or edit and cancel existing working orders during that time. Metal markets also follow CME holiday closures.
