A Professional Client account is available to clients who meet the applicable eligibility criteria. Professional Clients are subject to different trading conditions than retail clients and waive certain retail investor protections.

What if I’m not eligible for Professional Client status?

If you're not eligible for a professional account, you'll still be able to open a retail trading account and access the global financial markets from our suite of award-winning platforms, with in-depth market analysis and a range of trading tools.

What's the difference between a Retail and Professional Client account?

Professional Client accounts are subject to different margin and leverage arrangements than retail accounts. However, Professional Clients waive certain retail investor protections, including negative balance protection, and margin close-out levels may differ.

Order-aware margins

Some markets on the Advantage Trader platform benefit from orders-aware margins, which means that placing a Stop Loss Order on an open position will reduce the margin required to maintain that position. Information on whether a market includes orders aware margins can be found within the market information sheet. This feature is only available for clients who qualify for a FOREX.com Professional account.
