Yes. Any trades and orders placed on Web Trader will be visible across all FOREX.com platforms and apps (excluding MT4). This enables you to place a trade on Web Trader and close it on the FOREX.com mobile app, or vice versa.
You will also be able to view your watchlists, positions and orders across all platforms.
To add an associated limit or stop (or both) to an open position, follow these steps:
- Find your position in the ‘Portfolio’ tab – there should be no information displayed for 'TP' (take profit) or 'SL' (stop loss). Positions which have a stop and/or limit already set will display the information.
- Tap on the position, which will switch you to the trade information page
- Here, you can turn the toggles for 'Take-profit' and 'Stop-loss' on.
- Choose to place your stop or limit at a specific level under ‘Price’, number of pips away under 'Pips' (FX) or number of points away under 'Points' (other asset classes), or a monetary value under ‘P&L’
- Tap 'Update Trade'
To create a new watchlist, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the ‘Watchlists’ screen
- Select the '+' sign
- Enter your desired name for your list and tap ‘Create’
Once this new watchlist is created, you can add markets to it easily via the ‘Markets’ tab. Simply tap the 'star' icon and select the watchlist of your choice and hit ‘Done’.
Follow these steps to create a new chart template:
- Tap the full-screen icon in the bottom-left corner of any chart to access all the features available to you
- Set up your chart with the indicators and tools you wish to feature on your template
- Scroll along toolbar on the top for more options, and hit ‘Save’.
- Enter a name for your new layout in the pop-up and hit ‘Save’
The layout will be saved and will now show under the cloud icon in the upper right corner. To switch to a different layout or to create a new one, select the down arrow next to the saved layout.
If you have more than one trade in the same market, the app will automatically group those trades together in a consolidated view for you in the ‘Portfolio’ window. If you wish to see each position individually, simply tap on the relevant trade and it will collapse to reveal each trade separately.
Additionally, you can also use the ‘Stack’ button in the upper-right corner to toggle this view on or off.
When viewing a chart and with an indicator applied, you should see the name of your indicator to the extreme left of the chart. If you can’t, then you should see a sideways arrow which you can expand to see the indicator name.
Tap on the indicator name to see additional options, then hit the cogwheel icon to adjust your indicator’s settings. From here, you can adjust the parameters as needed and hit ‘OK’ to save your settings.
On a full-screen chart, tap ‘TRADE’ at the top of your screen to quickly place a trade.
You can also view any live positions directly on charts and tap the ‘X’ icon to close them. To adjust this setting, head over to the ‘Chart Settings’ section of the settings menu.
If you can’t see your live positions or orders on a chart, you’ll need to make sure that ‘Show Positions’ is enabled in the ‘Chart Settings’ area of the settings menu.
If ‘Show Positions’ is toggled on, then it’s worth double checking the timeframe of your chart as it may not be currently showing the area of your position or order.
Follow these steps to adjust your price tolerance for an individual market:
- Tap on your chosen market in the ‘Watchlists’ or ‘Markets’ tabs
- Tap 'Info' on the menu bar
- Under ‘Preferences’, you can amend your price tolerance to your chosen level
To access your statements, tap ‘Account’ at the bottom of the app and then select ‘Statements’ (you’ll find it under My Trading History). Next, tap the tick box next to ‘Statement’ and select your required date range.
Hit ‘Search’, and all available statements for the specified date range will be shown.
Currently, only a phone version of the FOREX.com mobile app is available. However, it can be installed on your tablet as well.
We use sophisticated encryption technology to ensure the highest level of account security.
To combat fast-moving markets, our price tolerance feature provides flexibility around fill proximity between the available market price quoted on the trading platform and the actual price at which the trade is executed. Should the rate at which your trade is ultimately executed fall outside the prevailing market rate by the amount of your specified price tolerance, that trade will be rejected by our system.
Markets where price tolerance applies will have default tolerance levels set, but they may be altered by the client on the trading platform. The default price tolerance on the platform is set to "Market Order".
If you wish to avoid any slippage, you can set the price tolerance level to '0'. This will mean that should our trade execution price move, you will need to submit a new trade request.
To set your desired price tolerance, select your market in the 'Markets' or 'Watchlists' tabs, then select 'Info'. Scroll down to 'Preferences' and use the selector to update your price tolerance.
You can choose to set a take-profit or stop-loss order on an individual position by selecting it from the list available under the 'Positions' tab, or on the total amalgamated position for the given market.
Unassociated pending orders will be executed per First In First Out (FIFO). Therefore, if you have a pending order in the opposite direct of an existing position, it will close the first trade entered depending on the trade details of the pending order.
If the unassociated pending order has the Hedge box checked, then the order will execute at the price in the opposite direction of the existing position.
The mobile app uses real-time data.
Yes, you can access your MyAccount portal from the mobile app and make deposits and withdrawals from there.
Ultimately, if you are unable to perform what you intended through the mobile application, you can access the MyAccount page from our website through an Internet Browser on your phone.
You can choose to receive price alerts and order alerts via app notification.
Unfortunately, clients will not be able to review a history of their triggered alerts on any FOREX.com platforms.
When you open the deal ticket for a given market and input the trade details, you will see a 'Hedging' option shown which is toggled 'off' by default. If this option is switched to the right, it will show as blue meaning it is ON. If you turn this option ON, this will open a new position in the direction you've chose, regardless of whether you currently have any open positions in the same market. If this is the first position within a particular market, the button will have no effect as effectively; there is no original position to hedge.
For example, if you have an open sell position for 10,000 units in EUR/USD and would like to hedge a quantity of 5,000 units, you would launch a new EUR/USD deal ticket, tap 'buy' and enter '5,000' under 'amount'. To place this trade independently from your original 10,000 units position, you will need to toggle 'Hedging' to ON and then place the trade. Please note if you do not tick the Hedge box, this will effectively close 5,000 units of your original short position. After you have submitted the hedged ticket, you will then have two positions open in EUR/USD market: one buy position for 5,000 units and one sell position for 10,000 units, meaning you are now net short 5,000 in total. You can also close either position independently at any time.
You must also be aware that if you have amalgamated positions turned on, this will show the net figures for the total trades placed (i.e. inclusive of all shorts or longs in a specific market). To see individual positions, you need to expand the amalgamated position or switch to single positions.
Web Trader - Smart Trading
To place a trailing stop loss order, start by opening a deal ticket or select the "set" option in the stop section of your position. Once you have an open deal ticket:
- Click the ‘Stop loss’ drop-down selector
- Select ‘Trailing’ from the list of options
- You can add multiple trailing stops on one position by clicking on the ‘Advanced Ticket’ option and adding additional stops
A trailing stop is created by setting a stop order that 'trails' your position by a specific number of points. If your trade moves in your favour, the trailing stop moves with the market, executing only when the market moves against you by the set number of points.
To place a GSLO, choose the market you wish to open a position on and open the deal ticket. Then:
- Click on the ‘Stop Loss’ dropdown
- Select ‘Guaranteed stop loss’
- Add multiple stops at different levels by clicking on the ‘Advanced ticket’ option
- Enter your stop as either a price, distance in points or P&L
If you wish to add GSLO to an open position, navigate to the 'positions' tab and scroll to the right to the 'stop loss' column and select 'set' to bring up the 'amend position' ticket. From here, enter the details for your GSLO and click 'update position' to finish.
Please be advised that you can only place/amend GSLOs within market hours, and minimum distances apply. Minimum distance will be shown on the deal ticket.
Scroll to the bottom of the trade ticket and click on 'advanced ticket', and toggle the 'hedging' option to 'ON'. Click '< standard ticket' to return to the deal ticket. A messaging saying 'Hedging is on' will be displayed.
A ‘hedged’ position is when you go both long and short in the same market on a non-FIFO basis. FIFO stands for 'first in first out'. If you have multiple trades in the same market, placed on a FIFO basis, the first position to close is the first position placed in that market.
Non-FIFO allows you to open and close positions in the same market in any direction you wish. It doesn't prevent you from closing the first trade you placed, it simply gives you greater flexibility to open and close multiple positions in multiple directions.
You can also set up your platform to toggle hedging on or off. To choose this setting, visit the MyAccount section of the platform in the top right hand corner.
Our default on the platform is set to “Market Order”, but you can adjust price tolerance from within the deal ticket for a given market, under the 'Price Tolerance' section (found beneath the 'Quantity' field), or from within the 'market info' section of a market.
- Amend the tolerance levels set within the market information window or through the Advanced ticket for each market that permits adjusting of Price Tolerance levels.
- Set the price tolerance level to '0' (or 'Fill or Kill') to remove all slippage. This will mean that should our trade execution price move, you will need to submit a new trade request.
Full market information is found on left hand side of the Market 360 view of a market. You can view all the available information here including margin requirements, spreads, stakes, market opening times and more.
- Open the deal ticket for your chosen market and click the 'order' tab at the top of the ticket
- Click on the ‘Add OCO’ link on the bottom right of the order ticket. This opens a second part to the trade ticket to allow you to place two orders at once
- You can now add two orders, one of which will be cancelled if the other is executed
- You can now add one order on the left side of the ticket (with stop-losses or take-profit orders if required), and another order on the right side of the ticket. If one order is triggered, the other order is cancelled so you are left with one open position
- This can be useful if you think the price of an instrument will move sharply in one direction or the other and you can place a sell order and buy order to try to take advantage of the sharp price movement
