Record euro shorts leave EUR/USD vulnerable to a short squeeze as traders assess ECB inflation risks, December rate hike expectations and Fed policy.

A new trading week is underway and the euro continues to show signs of weakness in the short term. This can be seen in the recent performance of EUR/USD, which has fallen nearly 0.5% over the last three trading sessions, reflecting a relatively consistent loss of momentum in the European currency.

Recent trading sessions have not been particularly eventful for EUR/USD price action in the short term. In fact, recent moves have been limited to roughly 0.2%, highlighting a clear lack of direction within the market.

The week continues to present challenges for the euro's short-term strength. This is reflected in the recent performance of EUR/USD, which has declined by nearly 0.6% over the last three trading sessions

The euro has started to face a more challenging period in the short term. The EUR/USD pair has already declined by nearly 0.81% over the last four trading sessions, a move that has begun to reinforce a meaningful bearish bias in favor of the U.S. dollar.

Today's session has been particularly relevant for the euro's performance in the short term. After the EUR/USD registered a decline of nearly 0.3% during the session, the European currency has managed to recover a large part of its losses.

Following the strong recovery of the euro against the US dollar last week, slight indecision has reemerged on the EUR/USD chart. This is reflected in early week trading fluctuations, which now show a price decline of around -0.2%, indicating modest short-term strength for the dollar.

Near the end of June, one of the most important factors for markets has been the recent strength of the US dollar. This behavior has pressured the euro and can be seen in the latest moves in EUR/USD, which has accumulated a decline of nearly 0.8% over the last two trading sessions.

As the trading week approaches its close, one of the main short-term developments is the euro’s loss of momentum. This is reflected in EUR/USD price action, with the pair down around -0.2% on the day and moving back toward the 1.15 area.

The first week of June begins with the euro showing renewed signs of short-term weakness. This can be seen in recent EUR/USD price action, with the pair falling more than 0.2% during the session.

The trading week begins with EUR/USD showing signs of short-term strength, posting a gain of more than 0.4% during the first session. This move has started to suggest a new short-term bullish bias, mainly driven by progress in Middle East negotiations and the decline in US bond yields.

The week begins slowly for the euro, as EUR/USD price action in the first sessions shows moves of only around 0.2%, lower than those seen at the end of last week, reflecting a lack of clear short-term direction.

As the trading week comes to an end, EUR/USD has posted a gain of more than 0.3% during the final session, with the euro showing a modest recovery in strength in the short term. However, when looking at the average of recent sessions, price action continues to reflect a consistent phase of neutrality.
