The US Dollar has rallied since last week’s rate hike and USD/JPY remains a massive driver across the USD complex.

A new trading week is underway, and the Canadian dollar continues to show signs of weakening momentum. This can be seen in recent USD/CAD price action, with the pair gaining nearly 0.7% over the last four trading sessions.

The Japanese yen continues to face challenging conditions in the short term. By the end of the week, USD/JPY had gained nearly 2.00% over the previous five trading sessions, highlighting ongoing weakness in the yen and showing that the U.S. dollar continues to gain ground.

The USD closed red last week despite a seemingly bullish backdrop but it made up for it this week, driven by a strong breakout in USD/JPY.

Recent trading sessions have not been particularly favorable for the Canadian dollar. USD/CAD has now recorded four consecutive bullish sessions, accumulating gains of more than 1.00% in favor of the U.S. dollar. This move once again highlights a relevant bullish bias within the market and shows that buying pressure continues to dominate in the short term.

Despite the ECB rate hike EUR/USD is working on a doji for the week, but the bigger matter for FX markets remains the USD/JPY carry trade as the Federal Reserve walks towards a highly expected rate hike next week.

Today's session has been particularly relevant for the euro's performance in the short term. After the EUR/USD registered a decline of nearly 0.3% during the session, the European currency has managed to recover a large part of its losses.

Over recent trading sessions, a growing sense of indecision has once again become evident around USD/CAD price action. For now, average movements over the last four trading sessions have failed to establish a clear directional bias, with daily fluctuations remaining close to 0.2%, a relatively modest figure compared to the moves above 0.6% observed last week

Over recent trading sessions, a particularly relevant dynamic has begun to emerge around USD/MXN price action, as a growing phase of indecision and lack of clear direction becomes increasingly evident in the short term

The yen has continued to gain relevance during recent trading sessions and, over the last four trading days, USD/JPY has declined by nearly 3.6%, highlighting the strength currently being displayed by the Japanese currency against the U.S. dollar.

The trading week continues to be particularly relevant for the strength currently being displayed by the Canadian dollar. Over the last two trading sessions, USD/CAD has declined by approximately 0.7%, once again highlighting a bearish bias in favor of the Canadian currency.

A significant shift has begun to emerge around the strength of the Japanese yen in the short term. Over the last two trading sessions, USD/JPY has declined by nearly 1.00%, reflecting a notable recovery in the Japanese currency.

The week has not been particularly favorable for the euro. Over the last three trading sessions, EUR/USD has declined by nearly 0.5%, once again highlighting a meaningful bearish bias in the short term.
