EUR/USD forecast: Forex Friday | September 11, 2026

The EUR/USD edged lower this morning, down for the second day, ahead of the release of US CPI. The pair has been consolidating in a tight range, and yesterday’s hawkish rate hike from the ECB failed to deliver the breakout many traders were hoping to get. With the US dollar finding renewed support in recent days, the risk to the near-term EUR/USD forecast is tilted to the downside.

EUR/USD forecast: FOREX Friday | July 17, 2026

Although this week’s softer US inflation readings briefly encouraged hopes that the Fed may not have to tightening after all, the renewed rise in oil prices has complicated that narrative and prompted investors to reassess the outlook. As such, they have found it difficult to justify shorting higher-yielding currencies or buying low or zero yielding assets. This narrative is unlikely to change much until there is genuine breakthrough in the tension between the US and Iran.

EUR/USD Forecast: FOREX Friday | June 5, 2026

The US jobs report is due shortly, before attention turns to US CPI and ECB rate decision next week for the EUR/USD traders. Of course, the bigger issue is oil prices and the Strait of Hormuz. Despite persistent uncertainty surrounding US-Iran negotiations, oil markets have remained remarkably composed, unable yet to generate the upside momentum many would normally expect. That restraint in energy prices is proving important for currency markets, limiting the US dollar’s ability to stage a more convincing rally despite an increasingly supportive domestic backdrop. Will a stronger-than-expected US non-farm payrolls report later today provide another boost to the dollar?

EUR/USD forecast: Forex Friday | May 22, 2026

In what had been another choppy week dominated by contradictory geopolitical headlines surrounding the US-Iran conflict, stock markets have largely taken the more optimistic route, even though crude oil refuses to give back its large geopolitical risk premium built in. Wall Street trades near record highs thanks to a select handful of tech names doing all the heavy lifting, while Europe has been more measured.

EUR/USD forecast: Risk appetite hit as yields and dollar extend rise – FOREX Friday

Markets look to be reacting to a combination of fading geopolitical optimism and a fresh repricing of the Fed path. A great deal of hope had been pinned on the Trump-Xi meeting delivering at least a handful of constructive headlines — not just on trade, but potentially on Iran too. Instead, the absence of meaningful progress has left risk sentiment exposed.

EUR/USD forecast: Forex Friday | May 1, 2026

The near-term dollar forecast took a hit yesterday on the back of the Japanese intervention and hawkish-leaning ECB and BoE meetings. But the US dollar need not fall too far from here. If anything, I am expecting a swift recovery especially against currencies of economies that rely on oil imports. Crude prices have resumed higher after yesterday’s drop halted a sharp rally.
