DAX Outlook: DAX breaks resistance

APAC equities softened following Wall Street’s pullback, while the DAX confirmed a breakout from a multi-month triangle, extending its bullish trend above key EMAs. China’s crackdown on NVIDIA chip imports and renewed US tariff rhetoric weighed on tech sentiment. Brent fell below $65 as the Gaza ceasefire eased geopolitical pressure, while gold steadied around $3,970/oz. Traders eye US CPI release timing amid the shutdown and the start of Q3 earnings season.

DAX Technical Analysis

The Germany 40 (daily) has broken out of a multi-month descending triangle, confirming a bullish continuation. Price is trading above all key EMAs — 20 (24,159), 50 (24,007), 100 (23,744), and 200 (22,899) — with upward slopes showing strong trend alignment. RSI (67.6) is rising but below overbought, while Stoch RSI remains high, signaling sustained bullish momentum.

The breakout ends consolidation between 23,300–24,500, bringing the next psychological levels into play at 25,000 - 25,500. Support lies at 24,500, then 24,000–23,800. Holding above 23,900 keeps the bias bullish as this is above all major EMAs. Momentum appears firm yet controlled due to the increasingly upwards sloping EMA20.

  • Speakers: Fed’s Daly, Goolsbee, Musalem.
