USD/CAD is holding near fresh yearly highs, but bearish divergence and a well-defined October range raise the stakes at major resistance.

The trading week continues to unfold and, for now, USD/CAD remains trapped in a relatively consistent phase of indecision. The Canadian dollar has managed to hold on to some of its recent strength, which can be seen in the pair's performance over the last two sessions, where it has declined by roughly 0.2%.

USD/CAD is holding near fresh yearly highs, with a tight October range keeping the focus on a potential breakout through major resistance.

The trading week continues to unfold, and the Canadian dollar has begun to show signs of renewed strength in the short term. This can be seen in recent USD/CAD price action, with the pair posting a decline of roughly 0.2% over the last two sessions, allowing the Canadian currency to recover part of the ground lost in previous weeks.

The Canadian dollar continues to face one of its most challenging environments in recent months when it comes to maintaining strength against the U.S. dollar. The weakness of the Canadian currency is clearly reflected in USD/CAD, which has now recorded nine consecutive bullish sessions and gained more than 1.7% during that period.

USD/CAD has advanced in 14 of the past 15 sessions, but stretched momentum raises the stakes as major resistance and NFP come into focus.

USD/CAD is pressing into a major technical barrier after an extended advance, raising the risk for price inflection as momentum stretches.

The final stretch of 2026 is approaching, and North America's major currencies have begun to show a shift in the strength dynamics seen earlier in the year. New expectations of a more aggressive monetary policy stance, particularly in the United States, could be significantly reshaping the outlook for the region. At the same time, this backdrop, combined with potential trade tensions across North America, may become one of the most important drivers of currency performance in the months ahead.

A new trading week is underway, and the Canadian dollar continues to show signs of weakening momentum. This can be seen in recent USD/CAD price action, with the pair gaining nearly 0.7% over the last four trading sessions.

USD/CAD is testing major resistance at the monthly high, with the fate of the near-term recovery potentially hinging on today’s Fed decision.

Recent trading sessions have not been particularly favorable for the Canadian dollar. USD/CAD has now recorded four consecutive bullish sessions, accumulating gains of more than 1.00% in favor of the U.S. dollar. This move once again highlights a relevant bullish bias within the market and shows that buying pressure continues to dominate in the short term.

Over recent trading sessions, a growing sense of indecision has once again become evident around USD/CAD price action. For now, average movements over the last four trading sessions have failed to establish a clear directional bias, with daily fluctuations remaining close to 0.2%, a relatively modest figure compared to the moves above 0.6% observed last week

The trading week continues to be particularly relevant for the strength currently being displayed by the Canadian dollar. Over the last two trading sessions, USD/CAD has declined by approximately 0.7%, once again highlighting a bearish bias in favor of the Canadian currency.
